Described as a fraudster in New York in the early 1960s.” The story is based on her relationship with a rich man traveling in Italy who has a troubled relationship with his son.
Tom Ripley is hired by a rich man to convince his wayward son to return home from Italy. But Tom’s introduction to Dickie Greenleaf’s comfortable life abroad is “the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder”.
Andrew Scott plays this intriguing version with a distinct, ominous spirit. Trust-fund loafer and aspiring artist Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) is sent to Italy to return to America for Tom Ripley.
But Ripley soon insinuates herself into Greenleaf’s life with a not-so-good influence, creating destructive dynamics. This film has been shot in absolutely beautiful black and white.
